New changes to the provision of Basic Cardiac Life Support

As indicated in the news, new changes are being introduced to the provision of basic cardiac life support.  More encouragement to provide just compressions to recent collapsed victims will occur.  The BC Ambulance Service prompt witnesses of cardiac arrests to just compress 600 times non-stop after it is confirmed that the patient appears to be in arrest.  While it has always been ABC it will now be CAB, where ventilations are not provided until after the first sequence of compressions.  In addition, back blows will also now be included in the management of conscious obstructed victims.
